This is a fresh, summery take on a Mint Julep.

Georgia Julep

 

2 sprigs of fresh mint

1/2 teaspoon sugar (or more to taste)

2 oz. Bourbon or Rye whiskey

1 oz. Peach Schnapps

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Lemonade, sparkling water, mint sprigs (garnish, optional)

 

Muddle the 2 sprigs of mint and sugar with a little bit of water in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, whiskey, schnapps, and lemon juice, and shake vigorously.

Strain into a tall cocktail glass filled with ice, and top off with lemonade or sparkling water; garnish with mint sprigs.
